2021 Ford Broncos Catch Fire While Carried by Inaptly Named “Reliable” Trailer

Ever since the first rumors started doing the rounds online and even after the July 2020 boiling point, the 2021 Ford Bronco has been one of the hottest (pun intended) automotive industry subjects. Still unaccounted for at dealerships, the reinvented SUV has been the subject of incessant spotting, all designed to quench the thirst of so many fans.

With a host of pre-production prototypes already running around in all kinds of guises and with Ford finally getting ready to adhere to a schedule of sorts, the 2021 Bronco has been caught in the wild in all sorts of interesting situations.

From odd “fastbacksoft tops or accessory-laden examples to casually lying around for a close encounter with the competition (both direct and indirect) or touting its upcoming Warthog capabilities, the Bronco has been seen in just about every posture.

Although it’s been previously spotted while being transported on trailers, this time around, we’re dealing with a very unfortunate situation. According to information shared by the bronco6g.com forum, a couple of 2-Door 2021 Ford Broncos were being carried inside a truck trailer that caught fire at a rest stop in Greenville, Illinois.

There’s little information on the actual cause of the mishap, although the forum user that shared the pics seen in the gallery mentioned “this was not caused by the Broncos, for anyone wondering. This was an equipment failure of some kind on the trailer.”

Of course, we’ll take this with a grain of salt lest we see an official report from the authorities or the involved parties. The user added, “I can say with 100% percent certainty, it was either the truck driver running a flat tire too long, or he had a brake hanging up and it caught fire.

Anyways, with the Bronco being such a hot subject, some Internet dwellers immediately emphasized the bright side of the situation – first by pointing out the trailer proved to be the exact opposite of the advertised “Reliable Carriers” branding.

Then it was off to the usual funny tropes based on Bronco elements that have already spawned a love and hate relationship. For example, someone added there’s good news to be had here as well, as the infamous MIC hardtop has “never looked better.”
