The Ford Bronco currently is the sweetheart of the aftermarket, following in the footsteps of the Jeep Wrangler. For this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Blue Oval has prepped no fewer than six modified Broncos to maximize the hype despite production setbacks and quality issues.
In true Built Wild fashion, the Bronco RTR two-door Badlands is rocking a twin-tipped sports exhaust for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost, a performance intake, a sound bar, RCV Performance CV axles, an Ultimate Dana 60 semi-float rear axle, and an Ultimate Dana 44 FDU front axle. This build is topped off by Fox Performance Elite 2.5 coilovers, RTR Tech 6 forged wheels, 37-inch tires, side graphics, and decidedly quirky decals on the rear fenders.
BDS Suspensions chose a two-door Black Diamond series Bronco with a 4-inch UCA lift kit, Fox 2.5 PES coilovers, rear adjustable control arms and track bar, sway bar disconnect, and 37-inch rubber from BFGoodrich. The CrawlTek Revolution bumpers give this rig a very interesting look, along with the half-truck hardtop roof, CrawlTek slider steps, and slideout tray.
Tucci Hot Rods picked a four-door Badlands for their build, which is arguably the craziest of the lot because it’s riding on tracks rather than off-road tires. Curiously enough, they settled for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and seven-speed manual instead of the 2.7-liter EcoBoost and ten-speed auto.
Designed by Theresa Contreras, the Baja Forged by LGE-CTS Motorsports improves on the four-door Outer Banks with an ICON Vehicle Dynamics 3.0 suspension lift, Ford Performance Parts rock lights, a tailgate folding table, Baja Forged fender flares, a Baja Forged spare tire carrier, and lots of interior amenities that include a sound bar from JBL and a small fridge.
The remaining two builds come in the guise of the Bronco Sport Badlands, the little one that features the 2.0-liter EcoBoost and Ford Escape underpinnings. Modified by LGE-CTS Motorsports and CGS Performance Products, these crossovers look somewhat more capable than the bone-stock model thanks to goodies that include a 2.0-inch lift kit and A/T rubber shoes.
