Come March 2021, there will be a new interpretation of the BMW X2 ready to take on the British roads: the M Mesh Edition, shown for the first time by the Bavarians in September of last year.
As one of the youngest nameplates in the BMW portfolio, the X2 has a large segment to grow into, and it needs all the help it can get to achieve the desired growth. One of the ways to push it along the right path is to come up with special versions of it, and the Mesh is the latest of them.

For the British market, the car adds to the appeal of the M Sport X model by tampering with its looks. The biggest change can be found at the front, where there’s a high-gloss black kidney grille, not unlike the one deployed on the X2 M35i.

Other highlights are the inserts in the bumper trim, cladding on the side skirts and door, and the wheel arch trim in a new signature color called Frozen Black-Brown. Just like the one offered in Germany, the British variant can be had with either a set of 19-inch alloy wheels or slightly bigger, 20-inch ones.

Light play was used for the car as well, in the form of the X2 logo projection coming from the exterior mirror on the driver’s side, or lighting for the door handle, ground, exterior mirror, and door entry. Inside, customers are treated with things like M seats in black Dakota Leather.

Engine-wise, the Mesh Edition is available for all existing powertrains in the lineup, meaning three diesels, three gasoline engines, and a plug-in hybrid drive. Prices for the local variant of the 2021 BMW X2 M Mesh Edition start at £34,510 (about $46,900 in U.S. currency at the current exchange rates), and it can already be ordered. Deliveries are expected to start in the first month of spring.
