At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show this March, South Korean carmaker SsangYong introduced the fourth generation of the Korando, one of the leading cars in its lineup and a British favorite SUV. As sales of the new nameplate are about to start, SsangYong revealed on Tuesday (August 20) the models to be offered and the price list to go with it.
There are in all four variants of the new Korando to choose from. The entry-level SUV, called ELX, is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and only comes as a two-wheel drive machine. It sells in the UK from £19,995.

Second in line is the Korando Ventura, powered by the same engine and also available as a two-wheel drive SUV only. By adding some unique extra features like 10.25-inch LCD cluster or Apple CarPlay / Auto Android compatibility, this model sells from £22,995.

Up next is the Korando Pioneer that comes with a slightly bigger engine – 1.6-liters, diesel – and either 2WD or 4WD. SsangYong charges from £26,495 for it.

The top of the range is the Korando Ultimate that retails from £26,495 for the 1.5-liter, 2WD manual version, but can go as high as £31,995 for the 1.6-liter, 4WD automatic transmission variant.

The 1.5-liter gasoline GDI comes with a power output of 163 ps and 280 Nm of torque, while the bigger 1.6-liter diesel cranks out 136 ps and 324 Nm of torque. Both use an automatic stop / start system.

Regardless of the version, the new Korando comes with more headroom and rear-seat space that the previous generation, and extra safety systems like emergency braking, blind-spot detection, lane keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Safety-wise, the South Koreans also say they are expecting their SUV to receive a five-star rating from the Euro NCAP.

Full details on all the four variants of the Korando, as released by SsangYong, can be found in the document attached below.
