Bold Edition is how the pumped-up pony in the photo gallery is called, and Carroll would be proud of it for all the right reasons. Limited to 30 units out of a total of 500 examples of the Super Snake, the Bold Edition will be revealed in the flesh in January in Scottsdale, AZ.

Offered as a fastback coupe or soft-top convertible, the limited-run model can also be had with a good ol’ six-speed manual or the 10-speed automatic transmission that Ford also utilizes in the F-150 pickup truck and Explorer utility vehicle. Also available to international customers, the Bold Edition Super Snake comes with unique upholstery, different gauges for the instrument cluster, look-at-me door sill plates, and branded mats.

The exterior, however, is the highlight. Offered in “the most prolific colors” from Shelby’s illustrious past, the Bold Edition can be had in twister orange with black stripes (pictured), shadow black with green stripes, or green lime with black stripes. Black wheels are featured too, complemented by a handful of special touches meant to level up the visual drama.

Brembo brakes, a track handling package, Ford Performance exhaust system, upgraded cooling, a short-throw shifter in the case of manual models, upgraded half shafts, and a thumpin’ great supercharger are also worthy of mention. Under the hood, what started life as the Coyote V8 from the Mustang GT now cranks out 710 horsepower (720 PS). As an option, the suck-squeeze-bang-blow can be upgraded to 825 horsepower (836 PS).

While pricing for the 2020 Shelby Super Snake may start at $123,295 in the United States, the Bold Edition is that more expensive. The company can also receive your Mustang GT as the donor vehicle for the build, in which case the conversion’s price starts at $71,395 for 2018 through 2020 models.
