How do you put a sportscar into a tree and make everybody happy instead of the whole thing being a disaster? You buy a scale model and decorate your Christmas tree, obviously. And you can now do this with the help of a 992 Porsche 911.
That's right, the first photos showcasing a 2020 Neunelfer scale model have hit the web and it looks like the perfect gift for Porschephiles.
The not-just-toy we have here is a 1:43 scale model of the new Carrera 4S. We're talking about a dealer edition, with the goodie coming from Maisto. Sure, this isn't the most accurate model in the world, but we're satisfied with the perceived quality and we're especially thrilled by the fact that the thing comes dressed in Lava Orange (this was the launch color for the 991.1 GT3 RS, remember?).
You'll get a detailed view of the model thanks to the Instagram posts at the bottom of the page. And you'll notice details like the basic wheels, or the lack of the Sport Exhaust (this optional feature comes with two massive oval pipes, while the quadruple round pipe setup portrayed here shows the standard exhaust).
As usual with the said scale, those willing to play with the miniature contraption will be able to open the doors, but that's about it. Then again, the real car doesn't let one properly open the engine cover and check out the flat-six at the back of the vehicle, so we didn't expect the pocket version to do that.
And while we're not sure about the price of these desk decoration, this is certainly a 911 we can all aford. After all, the actual Neunelfer will probably start at about $100,000 - the 991.2 base Carrera kicks off at $91,100, while the pricing increase for the 992 Carrera (4)S, the only model released so far, sits at about $8,000.
