Earlier this week, a new prototype of the 2020 Porsche 911 was spotted testing in naked form. Dressed in red, the tester was almost fully uncovered, just like the blue car we have previously spied, but the brighter shade allowed us to get a better taste of the 992 generation's look.
Judging by the lack of a widebody and by the fact that the rear wings don't pack any air intakes, we're looking at Carrera/Carrera S prototypes.

When we described the styling of the car, we mentioned that the slightly more rounded styling cues (compared to the 991 generation) somehow remind us of the 993.

Well, we are now back on the topic and we've brought along a rendering showcasing a modernized incarnation of the 993. The air-cooled monster (keep in mind this was the final air-cooled incarnation of the Neunelfer) now has LED eyes (this reminds us of the fact that one of the few elements that were still partially covered on the said prototypes were the headlights).

This render comes from pixel master Khyzyl Saleem, who loves to come up with such extreme proposals. The pixel wielder's fetish for mashups explains some of the elements found here. For instance, the rear wing on the car seems to be lifted off the McLaren P1.

The widebody approach is the kind that rivals the extreme styling cues we've seen on 964s wearing Rauh-Whelt Begriff kits. Oh, and let's not forget the rear-view mirrors, which are now found on the front wings.

Returning to the 992 incarnation of the Porcha, we added the said spyshots to the image gallery above. As for the tech details of the tale, you'll find them here. The all-new model is expected to make its debut by the end of the year, with this fall's Paris Motor Show being a likely venue for the event.

Pornsche like you mean it.
