Photoshop expert Aksyonov Nikita has pulled the roof right off the car in a very convincing manner. Just like the hardtop version, this convertible will look just like the older generation for most people, especially from the front. However, those who are familiar with the new hood creases will walk around to the tail and spot the wrap-around taillights which are sure to define the 992 generation.

The new 992 Cabrio will go up against the aging but popular Jaguar F-Type Roadster, as well as the Mercedes-AMG GT, which now has Porsche-like levels of variation. While the 3-liter twin-turbo flat-6 engine has carried over from one generation to the next, it's now making more power. Basic Carrera and Carrera 4 models are going to get 385 HP, 15 more than the old version. Meanwhile, the official photos have been all about the 4S with its aggressive oval exhausts standing between 450 HP and the outside air.

Oh, and the 992 has GPF, which along with extra crash protection and safety systems have added around 55 kilos to the weight of the car. But don't let that bother you, because both sprint times and Nurburgring laps are faster, and if Porsche can disguise the weight of the Conti GT, so can Porsche.

Porsche makes the best every-day sports cars in the world, and the 992 is no exception. As standard, it will have Volvo-like levels of safety scanners. Delve into the options, and you may find S-Class-like features, such as a night vision camera. And despite being heavier and more powerful, the new 911 offers better economy numbers, partly due to its fresh 8-speed PDK. There is even an app which calculates your emissions and lets you invest in environmental projects to cancel it out.

If you think the exterior is the same as before, maybe the cabin will suit you better. The dashboard layout is more modern, revolving around a large main screen and digital dials paired with an analog one.
