When it presented the car back in April, Nissan said the price of the new Versa will be "fitting buyers in the segment." And that seems to be the case, as the Japanese carmaker announced this week pricing for the car that has been for years one of the most affordable ones in the U.S.
Although a tad more expensive than the previous generation, the new Versa keeps the numbers low, hoping at yet another successful run on the market.

Shown in the exciting backdrop of the Rock the Ocean's Tortuga Music Festival in April, the Versa is now on sale at dealers across the country in three variants: S, SV, and SR.

The entry-level S with a five-speed manual is priced from $14,730, while its Xtronic counterpart retails from $16,400. The SV sells from $17,640, while the top of the range SR will set customers back at least $18,240.

The car is now in its third generation, and aside from the visual and engine updates comes with the most comprehensive suite of technologies to date. That includes the  Nissan Safety Shield 360 that brings to bear a wide range of safety tech, including pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, and driver alertness warning.

Engine-wise, the car uses a single powerplant, a 1.6-liter unit that can be paired to either a five-speed manual or an Xtronic transmission. Regardless of the variant deployed on, it develops 122-horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque and achieves a fuel consumption figure of 35 mpg combined.

The nearly $4,000 extra asked for the top of the range SR is justified by a few additional hardware, including the 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels or LED headlights. There's even an SR Convenience package on the table that adds heated front seats and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).

Full details on the specs on the new Nissan Versa can be found in the document attached below.
