The half-brother of the Armada can even be had with diamond-stitch quilted leather seats, added padding, and Hydraulic Body Motion Control. The 2020 Patrol also makes a point with class-leading power, packing “the strongest V6 and V8 engines in the segment.”

Nissan talks about the 4.0-liter V6 from the VQ family, an aspirated six-cylinder plant with 275 ponies and 394 Nm (291 pound-feet) of torque, as well as the 5.6-liter V8 known as the Endurance. The bigger of the two options produces 400 horsepower and 560 Nm (413 pound-feet). A proven seven-speed automatic transmission is standard regardless of engine choice, featuring a torque converter to bring the point home.

All-Mode 4x4 allows the driver to switch between multiple driving modes, tailored for on- and off-road conditions. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control mentioned earlier is an available feature on V8-engined models, promising a more comfortable ride and better NVH.

Now available to order in Middle Eastern markets such as the United Arab Emirates, the 2020 Patrol follows in the footsteps of more than 1.9 million examples of the breed since 1951. Except for the United States where the Armanda leads the lineup, the Patrol remains the flagship SUV from Nissan thanks to its inherent capabilities.

“The Patrol is one of our longest-standing and most cherished models, with a long and proud heritage,”
declared Joni Paiva, vice president of the Africa, Middle East, and India regions at Nissan. “The new model represents the peak of luxury and ultimate capability and will continue to provide authentic experiences to its loyal customers in the Middle East and around the world.”

Looking closer through the photo gallery, you’ll also notice the infotainment system comprises of dual displays that know how to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the V-motion grille is a common feature among Nissans, the boomerang-shaped LED headlamps serve as a preview of the automaker’s direction in terms of exterior styling.
