2020 Mercedes GLS Spied With Two Grille Designs Including The Maybach

Maybach has never made an SUV, and we can't wait to see rappers putting "I got the Maybach SUV," in their songs. The market is already inundated with expensive and quite impressive models - Bentayga, the Rolls, that Lamborghini SUV. One more can't hurt, right?

The latest spy videos from Germany, taken by the king of Benz sightings WalkoArt, show two distinct flavors of the GLS. One model has a normal grille design while the other features a bulging mesh which everyone expects to cover a Maybach grille like the one on the S-Class.

So far, the GLE hasn't shown any V8 engines, and it might not offer one outside the 63 AMG. But even if the GLS does the same thing, it's perfectly fine. Maybach already has six-cylinder luxury sedan models which sell very well in China. It's all about the feeling of true luxury, not face-tearing acceleration.

We'd go as far as to say that the new generation inline-6 mills from Daimler are the best in the business, so a Maybach GLS 450 is okay in our book. Of course, a de-tuned 4.0-liter V8 would also be awesome, but you won't see any V12s here since the Germans aren't going to make any of those.

The super-luxury SUV will be set apart from the normal model by two-tone paint which takes forever to polish and interior features that regular mortals can't fathom. Of course, the full MBUX dashboard will be fitted, so you could tell it to play your favorite songs from the comfort of the rear captain's chairs.

But if that's not your thing, the GLS 63 with a 600 horsepower AMG motor is also on its way. The only problem is "63" doesn't rime with anything.
