As it’s often the case with Hyundai, the Tucson has gone through some changes in preparation for the 2020 model year. For starters, four colors have been replaced by another four, namely Molten Silver with Stellar Silver, Coliseum Grey with Magnetic Force, Dazzling White with Winter White, and White Pearl with Cream White.
Another change worth mentioning is the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. As opposed to 2019, 2020 models from the Sport and above now feature leather as standard. Also included are advanced safety technology systems such as Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with automatic braking.

Pedestrian detection, high beam assist, rain-sensing wipers, smart cruise control with stop & go, as well as the Surround View Monitor are available as optional extras. Customers in the United States are treated to a 2.0-liter GDi four-cylinder engine with 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, coming as standard with a six-speed automatic tranny.

The Shiftronic is also coupled to the 2.4-liter GDi, also a four-cylinder engine but a bit more potent. Rated at 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, this is the plant you want in a compact crossover such as the Tucson. The overdrive lock-up torque converter in the transmission is designed to enable higher fuel economy at highway speeds in sixth gear.

Loaded with tech from the get-go, the 2020 MY features a 7.0-inch infotainment system that knows how to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Qi wireless charging is available on the Sport, Limited, and Ultimate trim levels in the United States of America.

Last, but certainly not least, Blue Link is a connected car system with three years of complimentary services. Blue Link includes Remote Start, Remote Climate Control and Door Lock/Unlock, Car Finder, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery. Accessible via buttons on the rearview mirror, the system can further be utilized through a web portal or the MyHyundai smartphone app.
