You could buy 3.5 units of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 for the price of a McLaren 600LT. However, instead of wondering how that would work, we've got a better question: what happens when you throw these velocity beasts at each other in a straight-line race?
No, the velocity battle we have here obviously isn't of the reasonable type. In fact, while the muscle car came to the brawl in factory form, the supercar had been taken to the gym.

The YouTube label that caught the race on camera (Can I Be Frank), doesn't mention the actual mods fitted to the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 occupying the middle section of the British missile. However, we are told that the unit now delivers 658 hp at the rear wheels while sipping on MS109 race juice - for the sake of comparison, you should know that the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 of the 'Stang typically delivers around 670-680 wheel horsepower (its official crank number sits at 760 hp).

It's worth noting that, until the S550-generation GT500 came around, it would've been impossible for us to state that a factory muscle car and a supercar are on the same level as far as the transmission is concerned (both pack dual-clutch units, remember?).

The scales? Don't even mention them; to offset the weight difference between these two beasts, the driver of the Blue Oval toy would have to go at it alone, while, say, four people would have to ride shotgun in the 600LT.

Oh well, it looks like the enthusiast wielding the McLaren did his best to make up for the said weight difference, as he took one passenger along for the ride.

On a more serious note, perhaps the GT500 driver aims to take his pony deep down the aftermarket route and engaged in this race to have a starting point; if so, here's to hoping the next adventures take place at the drag strip, so everybody can stay on the safe side.

Then again, maybe the gearhead wielding the GT500 has fallen deeply in love with the taillights of the supercar. We might never find out, but we can tell you that the racing action kicks off at the 0:35 point of the clip below.
