The C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 are extremely different animals. Of course, this won't stop racing aficionados from throwing the two at each other and we're here to discuss such a stunt.
Ford hasn't hidden the fact that it has built the S550 GT500 with supercars in mind, thus offering the kind of tech you'd find on the said genre on its muscle monster (we can list the dual-clutch transmission and the massive 16.5-inch two-piece rotors, with six-piston calipers front brakes here).

And Chevrolet didn't have to wait for the mid-engined Corvette to rival supercars. For instance, the ex-generation's range-topper, namely the C7 ZR1, can handle that task.

Well, two examples of these American land rockets recently got together with racing in mind. Alas, the two duked it out on the street, but please don't use this as an example. Especially now that more and more tracks have reopened their gates, make sure to head over to the drag strip when you feel it's time for battle.

Now, the Shelby GT500 we have here is said to have arrived at the fight in factory condition, which makes for 760 ponies. We can't say the same about its opponent, though.

You see, the Corvette ZR1's supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which churns out 755 ponies in factory trim, has been gifted with a custom upper pulley and a race juice tune.

Keep in mind that while the Chevy packed the automatic tranny (this is quicker than the manual), it did come with the big wing and all the downforce certainly didn't serve it well once the two got up to speed.

Perhaps in an effort to upset the aftermarket gain, the Chevrolet saw the YouTuber recording the whole thing riding shotgun, while it appears there was no passenger in the Mustang.

PS: If you wish to skip straight to the multiple battles engaging the said machines, you can head over to the 1:05 (60 mph start), the 2:46 (50 mph), the 3:57 and the 4:37 (60 mph) points of the clip below.
