The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 are obviously different animals, but don't expect this to keep owners from throwing the two slabs of America at each other in a race.
The battle we have here is the kind that started out as a callout on social media and, from that point on, it didn't take much for the owners to get together and see which machine can reach the horizon first. After all, the desire to find out which of the two is quicker only comes natural.

We're looking at a 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, which, according to its driver, only features a resonator delete, along with Toyo R888R rubber, which makes for the racer's favorite. As for its opponent, the C7 Chevrolet Corvette we have here only sports custom forged wheels.

It's also worth mentioning that the Corvette ZR1 comes with the low wing, which, as far as the drag is concerned, allows it to match the Mustang Shelby GT500.

Alas, the two machines battled on the street, so please don't use this as an example. As such, when you feel those velocity urges kicking in, please head over to the track, so you can keep the racing on the safe side, okay?

While the 760-pony 'Stang might dominate the 755 hp 'Vette as far as the transmission is concerned (think: dual-clutch vs. torque converter), it does come with a hefty scale footprint drawback, even if the Chevrolet we have here is a Convertible - the two are still separated by up to 600 lbs.

Now, these drivers may have tried to make up for a part of that weight difference by placing a passenger inside the Corvette. But has their effort paid out? You'll find out thanks to the piece of footage below - if you happen to be in a rush, you should know the sprinting action kicks off at the 6:30 point. That's where you'll find multiple races, with these featuring rolling starts, as this is the modus operandi of most street fighters.
