These days, social media is boiling with clips that show mid-engined Corvettes with twin-turbo kits (no, the factory ECU hasn't been "cracked" yet, so that boost still can't be put to good use), while earlier today we discussed a GT500 with a sleeved motor, which is aiming for 1,500 hp.

Nevertheless, the shenanigan we have here involves stock incarnations of the machines, albeit with the adventure still managing to deliver the said show.

Now, the pony and the 'Vette recently got together at the drag strip, which means they not only kept things on the safe side, but also benefited from the prepped surface of the track. Of course, the Chevy, with its midship layout, was easier to get off the line, but the massive muscle advantage of the Ford meant it has the potential to recover throughout the 1,320-feet run.

Of course, the winner of such a battle is decided by the Elapsed Time numbers rather than what your eyes tell you. The clock doesn't start ticking until the vehicle gets off the line, so the reaction time of the driver doesn't make a difference.

Nevertheless, RearWheelDrive, the YouTuber behind the wheel of the Corvette, was there for the show, which meant that, for him and all those wishing to get some giggles from the video below, the trick was to cross the finish line first.

The C8 and the GT500 duked it out on three occasions, with the Mustang claiming the first run.
