If you want to own the “most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world,” then you must pay up. On Friday, September 27, Dodge announced pricing for the most recent incarnation of the Charger lineup, including one of the range-toppers, the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody.
With performance figures to die for, the sedan does not come cheap. On the American market, the Hellcat will sell starting from $69,645. A price that is not for everybody, but Then again, neither are the performances of the car.
This variant of the Charger packs an engine powerful enough to give it an acceleration time of 3.6 seconds, a quarter-mile run of 10.96 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph.
“With 707 horsepower, a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, .96 g on the skidpad and a suggested starting price less than $70k, the new 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is a unicorn in the performance sedan segment,” said in a statement Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars for Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat.
“Nowhere but Dodge can you find a sedan with the power and performance per dollar across the entire Charger lineup.”
If you find the SRT Hellcat Widebody financially challenging, then you should know it’s not even the most expensive of the bunch. That title goes to the Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition of the Charger, with 717 horsepower under the hood and a price tag of $74,140.
For the 2020 model year, the Charger lineup has six models to choose from. The entry level is the Charger SXT RWD, which starts at a measly $29,895. Then come the GT RWD ($31,895), SXT AWD ($33,595), and R/T ($36,395).
The fun in the lineup begins with the Charger Scat Pack ($39,995) and continues with the Scat Pack Widebody ($45,995), and the two range-toppers we mentioned above.
