We've got about a month to go before the Ford Bronco comes out. But Chevy has already got its heritage high-rider on the market, which is pretty unusual for GM. Now in its second model year, the Chevy Blazer got reviewed by the guys at The Straight Pipes.
Both the Bronco and the Blazer used to be these awesome "utility vehicles" with big V8 engines and real ruggedness. But Chevy went ahead and turned its car into a crossover that competes with things like the Honda Passport, VW Atlas Cross Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

During its development, the Blazer got called the Camaro SUV. And while the Camaro looks are all there, we know there's never going to be a lovely muscle car V8 under the hood, just like with the Bronco.

Instead, this 2020 Blazer RS packs a 3.6-liter V6 pumping out 308 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the standard Blazer now comes with a 2-liter turbo making 230 hp. The RS model, which starts from about $44,000, also comes with 20-inch wheels, leather and a lot of sporty touches.

The power levels are decent, but it doesn't feel fast, say the guys at Straight Pipes. According to them, it's not fast, but "dad-fast". If you want a mid-sized SUV that feels much faster, definitely go for the 335 horsepower Edge ST - same money, but a turbocharged V6.

Looks-wise, this definitely looks like the Camaro of SUVs. But we know a base Camaro is nothing more than a rental car, so don't expect the Blazer to turn too many heads. Overall, it's way too aggressive for the performance it offers, which means it's not going to be seen as a cool SUV. Maybe GM can drop the 420 horsepower LF3 into this thing.

We're not hating on the Blazer RS. It's got a lot of nice features and some might even like the fake Lamborghini SUV looks. To find out more, just watch the review below.
