Just a few days are left until the Corvette nameplate steals the spotlight again. On July 18, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is scheduled to make its first official appearance, and it will do so in style, live-streaming its birth live for all the world to see.
According to Chevrolet, the show will start at 7:30 p.m. PDT/10:30 p.m. EDT on July 18. If you plan to be there for the rise of a new breed of sports car, you can do so at the following link.

“There is a large contingent of Corvette fans across the world waiting for the reveal of the Next Generation,” said in a statement Barry Engle, GM president.

“Viewers will hear directly from Chevrolet leadership, engineering and some special guests about the highlights and background of this first mid-engine Corvette.”

The new Corvette, soon in its eight generation, will mark a serious departure from the way in which the sports car was built until now. For decades, one of the car’s main traits was its front mid-engine configuration. But that will no longer be the case.

Chevrolet has confirmed the new Corvette - or at least one version of it - will be using a full mid-engine configuration, marking a return to the original designs of the carmaker’s iconic engineer, Zora Arkus-Duntov.

Rumor in the industry is the car will employ a twin-turbo V8 engine, the first twin-turbo ever deployed on a Vette. Several output configurations will probably be available, including one that reaches the 1,000 hp mark with the aid of a hybrid system.

Following its official unveiling on July 18, the new Vette will embark on two distinct tours of the American continent. The rides will start on both the East and West Coasts and will cover 125 dealerships across the nation.

That means the official presentation of the car that starts in a few days will extend well into 2020. Chevrolet will announce the exact date and time for each visit starting July 19.
