Even though it’s not in production yet, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette can be configured to your heart’s desire. The list of goodies starts with the Z51 Performance Package, which levels up the LT2 small-block V8 to 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
That’s 5 horsepower and 5 pound-feet more than standard, coming courtesy of the sports exhaust system with four tailpipes. The Z51 Performance Package also includes Michelin tires, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, larger brake calipers and rotors, extra cooling thanks to a third radiator, electronic limited-slip differential, and a rear spoiler.
Exterior colors? Chevrolet treats customers no fewer than 12 options, including the Elkhart Lake Blue metallic of the featured car. Roof options include the body-color finish, transparent, and visible carbon fiber. Six wheel designs and four colors for the brake calipers are also featured, including two shades of red for the latter (Bright Red and Edge Red).
The air intakes on the sides, right next to the doors? Those can be optioned in body color, carbon flash, or shadow gray while the Corvette badge up front is available in carbon flash or chrome. Visible carbon fiber is available for the side mirrors and grille inserts, and customers are also treated to go-faster stripes, painted engine covers, and fender hash marks.
No fewer than three trim levels are available, starting with the 1LT. Opt for this one, and you’re treated to eight-way power seats wrapped in Mulan leather, dual-zone climate control, 10-speaker audio from Bose, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, and many more. The 2LT adds goodies such as heated and vented seats, a head-up display, and the performance data recorder. Finally, the 3LT trim features GT2 seats with Nappa leather, carbon-fiber details, suede, and tons more leather on the door panels and dashboard.
Interior color combinations depend on the trim level, yet Jet Black with Yellow stitching remains our favorite. There’s even a carbon-fiber interior package if you want to bring the point home, as well as multiple colors for the seat belts.
