Premium Luxury is the second trim level, and the Sport tops the lineup. Looking at the bigger picture, the luxurious sedan undercuts the German trio made up by the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Pricing for the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, Super Cruise, and CT5-V haven’t been announced.

Through 2021, Cadillac plans to launch redesigned or new vehicles every six months or so. The XT4 and XT6 crossovers lead the offensive, followed by the CT5 and CT4 sedans. In a few years' time, General Motors will premiere an all-electric vehicle architecture called BEV3 in a crossover from the Cadillac brand.

Along with the CT4, the CT5 will be assembled at the Lansing Grand River facility on the Alpha 2 platform. The crown jewel of General Motors hopes to draw in female customers with the styling of the luxurious sedan while the price point is aimed at younger buyers (aged between 35 and 45 years old).

You’re treated to lots of standard features in the CT5 Luxury, including Drive Vehicle Mode Control, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, OnStar, active noise cancellation, keyless entry, push-button start, a high-definition reversing camera, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking.

In regard to the 2.0-liter turbo, the entry-level engine isn’t the LTG from the Camaro but the LSY from the XT4. With 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet on tap, it should be an adequate plant for a vehicle in this segment. In the case of the CT5-V performance model, the six-cylinder motor develops 355 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

On that note, would you consider the CT5 over the German competition? And on a different note, how do you feel about the CT5-V in comparison to CTS-V and its LT4 supercharged V8 engine?
