The number of modded examples of the now-replaced Audi RS6 must've been what determined Audi to come up with such an aggressive styling for the 2020 RS6 Avant. Regardless, the newcomer's look is more aggresive than that of certain tuner cars. But what if the overly extrovert appearance of the wagon were to be used on the A6 Sedan? Well, we'd end up with a saloon such as the one portrayed here.
The rendering sitting before us seems to give us a pretty good idea on how a 2020 Audi RS6 Sedan would look like.
And while the result is predictably worthy of the eye candy label, this doesn't seem quite as impressive as the wagon, at least from where I'm standing.
The uber-flared arches, the gaping front air intakes, the A7-style headlights that make the car appear wider, the racecar-like rear apron... they're brilliant (more on this below), but the dichotomy involving the said elements and the inevitable family driver look of the Avant is what's missing.
Regardless, J.B. Cars, the label behind this work, did some custom bumper work, while adding a few carbon touches (keep in mind that a carbon pack is offered as an optional extra) to differentiate the car from the one you'll find in a showroom.
Now, rumors of Ingolstadt bringing back the RS6 Sedan have been floating around for a while, but I wouldn't hold my breath for such a release. For one thing, Audi is bringing the 2020 RS6 Avant to the US, a market that doesn't seem to love wagons, a move that would've seemed unlikely if a saloon had been in the pipeline.
Of course, this only makes the C5 RS6 Sedan, which was only offered in America for the 2003 model year, even more of a gem. In fact, you'll find a review of the four-door in the video below (compliments go to Doug DeMuro).
