The Motorcycle Live event is currently in full swing at NEC Birmingham and will continue to keep its doors open until the end of the week.
For Suzuki, the event is extremely important. As the company announced since the end of October, a series of special unveilings and events will mark the 2018 Live as one of great importance for the Japanese.
First, there was the news that engineers led by former Grand Prix technician Nigel Everett and Suzuki technician Martyn Ogborne will be rebuilding the original G-54 concept, the precursor of the XR14 and RG500 motorcycles, in front of a live audience.
They did so last weekend and were planning to fire the bike for the first time on Monday, and they will do so again at the end of this week.
But that’s to please the crowds, so customers were looking forward to some piece of news concerning them. And that piece of news came on Tuesday, in the form of… new colors.
Suzuki announced that for the 2019 model year, most of the range of motorcycles will be getting “striking new color options.” And by most of the range, Suzuki also means the range-topping GSX-R1000R and V-Strom 1000XT adventurer.
For the GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R, Suzuki will be offering a MotoGP-inspired paint scheme, as well as a fresh white variant with black belly pan and bold Suzuki lettering.
The V-Strom line uses blue and white, the official Suzuki livery, but also touches of motocross-derived yellow on a version that is meant as a tribute to the DR-Z Dakar-racer.
The GSX-S bikes come all-blue with yellow and white flashes, as a nod to Suzuki’s MotoGP GSX-RR, but also in white and matt black with blue accents.
