2019 Skoda Karoq Scout Looks Ready to Venture Off The Beaten Track

After revealing the Laurin & Klement trim level for the Kodiaq earlier this month, Skoda is much obliged to debut the Karoq Scout. Just like the Octavia Scout, the newcomer features 4x4 as standard and an assortment of off-road equipment. If you’re planning on getting one, bear in mind the Karoq Scout will make its real-life premiere in October 2018 at the Paris Motor Show.

The Mlada Boleslav-based company describes the newest addition to the family as the type of vehicle which “feels just as much at home in the big city as it does off the beaten track.” The compact-sized footprint and raised ground clearance help in this regard, as does the simple though inviting cabin.

No less than three engine options will be available at launch, starting with the 1.5 TSI (150 PS) in combination with the seven-speed DSG. Two four-cylinder turbo diesels in the guise of the 2.0 TDI are also offered. The less powerful of the two (150 PS) features a six-speed manual transmission, whereas the range-topping option (190 PS) is coupled to the dual-clutch transmission we know from other Volkswagen Group models based on the MQB vehicle architecture.

Silver-colored elements contrast with the paintwork along with the wheel arch linings and 18-inch alloy wheels with a polished anthracite finish. The robust appearance can be made more on-road than off-road with the 19-inch alloy wheels, available as an optional extra. Tinted windows and SCOUT badges on the front mudguards complete the visual makeover on the outside of the vehicle.

Stepping inside the Karoq Scout, the Czech automaker is much obliged to treat the customer with black-brown contrasting seams on the seats. SCOUT embroidered lettering, leather on the steering wheel, stainless steel trim on the pedals, and an LED package with ambient lighting all come as standard.

Just like other versions of the compact-sized crossover utility vehicle, the Karoq Scout can be configured with the Virtual Cockpit, LTE module with Wi-Fi hotspot, and an electric trunk lid with tip-to-close function. A variable floor for the trunk, storage nets on the front seats and center console, a holder for multimedia devices, as well as a compartment for change and parking tokens are other highlights of the most capable Karoq in the family.
