As the 2019 Ram 1500 sells like there’s no tomorrow, the heavy-duty lineup has some catching up to do. The next generation is confirmed to arrive for the 2020 model year, but until then, the 2019 Ram HD is much obliged to do what it was meant to.
Enter the Chassis Cab Harvest Edition, starting at $43,900 for the 3500. Available in 4500 and 5500 flavors as well, the Harvest Edition can be had in no less than four colors. The range starts with Case IH Red and New Holland Blue, after which come Brilliant Black and Bright White.

The 3500 comes in single-rear-wheel or dually configurations, whereas the 4500 and 5500 are offered exclusively with four wheels at the rear. Four-door Crew Cab and two-door Regular Cab body styles are available, to which the customer can choose between the 60- and 80-inch cab-to-axle length options.

As for suck-squeeze-bang-blow, there are three engines to choose from. In addition to the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, customers can get the 6.4-liter HEMI V8. The 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel is the one to go for, however, if you want 930 pound-feet of torque and a best-in-class oil change interval of 15,000 miles.

“Addressing a direct request from farmers, Ram is the only manufacturer to offer Chassis Cab commercial trucks in colors that match two of the most popular lines of farm equipment in the nation,” explained Jim Morrison, head of the Ram brand at FCA North America. “The Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab delivers high capability and gives farming families a way to show their agricultural brand loyalty.”

Compared to the standard specification of the Chassis Cab, the Harvest Edition features body-color wheel flares, 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen infotainment with satellite navigation and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7.0-inch reconfigurable instrument cluster is standard as well, allowing the user to monitor the filter life, operating temperatures, and plenty more information regarding the engine.
