After introducing the SRT Trackhawk for the 2018 model year, 2019 will see the Grand Cherokee gain additional equipment and the Limited X trim level. Based on the product plan presented at the Capital Markets Day in Balocco, the fourth generation of the mid-size SUV will be refreshed from the ground up by the end of 2022.
Aiming to keep the Grand Cherokee competitive, Jeep is much obliged to offer higher resolution on the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross path detection. The exterior color palette, meanwhile, welcomes Slate Blue, Green Metallic, and Sting Gray.

The Limited X, which Jeep hasn’t released any photographs whatsoever at this point, features granite crystal exterior accents, 20-inch wheels, and a performance-style hood. Perforated leather upholstery is also included, as are the nine-speaker stereo and Active Noise Cancellation system.

Customers who want to spend less on the Limited without the X are now offered satellite navigation as standard. The Overland comes with 20-inch wheels, and the Summit can be had with 20-inch wheels as an optional extra.

As ever, the engine lineup starts with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that develops 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 is rated at 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet. Level up to the SRT, and the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 is much obliged to generate 475 ponies and 470 torques. As for the SRT Trackhawk, the 6.2-liter HEMI supercharged V8 develops 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet.

Jeep hasn’t published the pricing for the 2019 Grand Cherokee either, but don’t expect the newcomer to differ too much from the outgoing model. The cheapest trim level starts at $30,895. At the other end of the scale, the starting retail price of the SRT Trackhawk is $86,200.

On a different note, Jeep prepares to roll out the automaker’s first pickup truck in a long, long time. Scrambler is the name of the newcomer, combining the workhorse qualities of the 2019 Ram 1500 with the off-road capability of the Wrangler Unlimited.
