If you want a Trail Boss or the RST in Regular Cab flavor over in the United States, bad luck! Only the Middle East gets these trucks, and Chevrolet takes pride in the region-exclusive character of these bad boys.
The 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 comes standard, mated to an automatic transmission for good measure. Individual bucket seats and 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment are included, along with wireless phone charging, smartphone mirroring, and lots of safety features. A few of them include Parking Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Indicator.

Even as a single cab, the Trail Boss version of the Silverado 1500 includes the Z71 Off-Road Package that lifts the suspension up by 2.0 inches. Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires wrapping 18-inch wheels painted in black, a two-speed transfer case, and two bedside stickers are further featured.

The RST is more of a street-oriented truck, featuring Bright Silver aluminum wheels, Keyless Open and Start, LED cargo area lighting, body-colored bumpers and door handles, and plenty more. If you were wondering how much these babies cost in the United Arab Emirates, the local Chevrolet website lists them at 152,700 and 158,000 AED. That’s $41,570 and $43,020 at the current exchange rate, which is pretty good value for what you’re getting.

Back in the United States, the Silverado 1500 prepares to enter the 2020 model year with a few newities worth mentioning. The most important of them is the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel inline-six engine, the most powerful and efficient option in the segment based on Chevrolet’s figures.

The Ram 1500 broke the trend in 2014 with the EcoDiesel V6, showing that half-ton diesel pickups are here to stay. The market also happens to get increasingly hot, and Ford also offers such an option in the F-150.

Whatever you do, however, stay away from the 2.7-liter turbo known as the Tripower. That engine isn’t as economical as the 5.3 out on the highway, and looking at the bigger picture, why would you specify a four-cylinder in a light-duty pickup in the first place?
