The 2018 Detroit Motor Show came and went without Audi introducing the Q8. And while the German automaker's flagship SUV will land at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March, the time has once again come to focus on a Q8 prototype.
The 2019 Q8 spyshots we have here come from the Gumball Facebook page and appear to have been taken in France, at a time when the weather was kinder. We'll remind you that a test car without the psychedelic wrap was spotted earlier this month, but, regardless of the level of camo, there's one conclusion that sticks (you'll find the said spy pics in the galler above).

We're referring to the striking resemblance between the rear end styling cues of the Q8 and those of the already-out Lamborghini Urus, with the hips being the most prominent example.

Unlike the Urus, which should only receive a plug-in hybrid powertrain in addition to its current 650 hp twin-turbo V8, the Q8 range should be considerably richer.

As such, Audi's uber-SUV will receive 3.0-liter V6 gas and diesel units, along with a 4.0-liter V8 TDI lifted from the SQ7, which will obviously wear the SQ8 badge. As for the rumored RS versions of the German model, this could sit below the said output of the Urus.

Speaking of the Lamborghini Urus, we'll remind you that the Q8 sharing episode mentioned above isn't the only one of its kind.

For one thing, the Internet has been going crazy about rumors of the Urus using the same kind of door handles as Skoda models - sure, the VW Group's budget brand might be in the midst of an upmarket transition, but such family behavior sounds like too much.

Then again, Lamborghini still hasn't put anybody behind the wheel of the Urus and we have a small hunch that the driving impressions might change the way people focus on the Sant'Agata Bolognese SUV...
