In production since 2018, the C8 arrived in the United States for the 2019 model year with the 3.0-liter V6 of the 55 TFSI quattro. But as of now, the 45 TFSI quattro is available to order at $54,100 for the Premium and $57,800 for the Premium Plus excluding the $995 destination charge.
In other words, choosing four instead of six cylinders is $4,800 more affordable, all while retaining all-wheel drive and the automatic transmission. In regards to suck-squeeze-bang-blow, the 2.0-liter TFSI makes do with 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm.

6.1 seconds to 60 miles per hour isn’t too bad considering the weight of the A6, and the standard equipment list isn’t too bad either. LED headlights with high beam assistance, lane departure warning, three-zone automatic climate control, heated power seats, leather upholstery, and contrast stitching are all standard, along with MMI navigation and Audi smartphone integration.

MMI touch response replaces the rotary dial from the previous generation with two touchscreen displays. Audi virtual cockpit adds a third display, but this piece of equipment is an optional extra. From an aesthetic standpoint, the bone-stock A6 comes with 19-inch dynamic design wheels with a 10-spoke layout and all-season tires.

Progressive steering is another highlight of the 2019 Audi A6, promising improved maneuverability in the twisties. On that note, are you curious how the competition stacks up in terms of pricing, complete with a four-cylinder turbo, all-wheel drive, and all?

The closest rivals to the Audi A6 45 TFSI quattro are the BMW 5 Series in 530i xDrive flavor and the E 300 4Matic from Mercedes-Benz. The suggested retail price for these babies is $55,700 and $56,000 excluding destination, respectively. Without further beating around the bush, the four-ringed model is the most affordable choice of the three.

If you had $60k to spend on a mid-size sedan with premium and luxurious appointments, which of these options would you take home?
