At $157,500, the 2019 Acura NSX is $1,500 more expensive than before. On the upside, this price increase is that you’re getting $4,700 worth of features as standard. But wait, there’s more!
The mid-engine hybrid supercar is 26 and 19 percent stiffer up front and at the rear, mostly thanks to larger stabilizer bars. The Continental SportContact 6 rubber features an NSX-exclusive compound, translating to a lap time on the Suzuka racing circuit two seconds quicker than the outgoing model.
On the suck-squeeze-bang-blow front, nothing has changed. 573 horsepower (427 kW) and 476 pound-feet (645 Nm) of torque, nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, Super-Handling AWD, you know how the NSX likes to roll. More to the point, the closest on-paper rival to the Japanese supercar is the McLaren 570S Coupe.
So what else is new for the 2019 model year? As you can tell from the pictured vehicle, Thermal Orange Pearl has been added to the color palette, named after the Thermal Raceway in California. Orange-painted brake calipers are also available.
Body-color front grille garnish replaces the previous silver finish, and the grille surround now features a high-gloss look. Customers who want their NSX to stand out from the crowd can opt for the Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler and Carbon Fiber Exterior Package. As for the interior of the car, Alcantara and blue Indigo leather upholstery fits the bill.
In regard to creature comforts, the $4,700 worth of standard equipment includes satellite navigation, ELS Studio premium audio, four-way power adjustable seats, proximity sensors for both the front and rear, and aluminum sport pedals. Those who prefer lightness over creature comfort can get manually adjustable sports seats at no additional cost.
Track junkies can go one step further through an optional dealer-installed tire package, coming in the form of Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber. It should be mentioned, however, that this sort of tire doesn’t work when it rains, it’s cold, anything at all except for dry, sunny weather. Manufactured in Marysville, Ohio, the 2019 Acura (and Honda) NSX will arrive at dealers this fall.
