2018 Roush F-150 SC Churns Out 650 Horsepower

Some trucks are more equal than others, and the best example in this regard is the 450-horsepower F-150 Raptor. But what if you need more get-up-and-go and the burble of a V8? Enter the F-150 SC from Roush Performance, which features a TVS R2650 supercharged bolted onto the 5.0-liter Coyote engine.

More of a modern-day Lightning than Raptor, the F-150 SC exhales through an active exhaust system that features a quiet mode, just like the 2018 Ford Mustang GT. A dial mounted on the center console takes care of the volume, and alternatively, the driver can install a mobile app on his smartphone to change the exhaust mode.

As you can tell from the ground clearance of the pictured vehicle, Roush has installed Fox 2.0 coilover suspension that lifts the front of the F-150 SC by two inches compared to the bone-stock setup. Despite the additional ground clearance, towing or payload capacities haven’t been sacrificed in the name of off-road capability.

Together with the coilovers, the 20-inch wheels make a great team with the Mickey Thompson Baja ATX P3 tires. On the aesthetic front, the more aggressive bumper cover is designed to work together with the adaptive cruise control system. Decals of all shapes and sizes are also available, though they’re optional.

A signed badge beautifying the engine bay rounds off the F-150 SC package, which costs $22,999 on top of the price of the donor vehicle. Available at authorized Ford dealerships, the package also includes three years or 36,000 miles of warranty, whichever of the two comes first.

The cheapest V8-powered F-150 for the 2018 model year is the XL trim with the Regular Cab, starting at $29,700. The four-wheel drive option adds $4,645 to the price, but on the other hand, the 10-speed automatic transmission is standard, including the Tow/Haul selector and driving modes that include Sport, Snow, and Wet.
