Renaultsport has been working of the Megane IV in RS flavor for quite some time now. There are plenty of spy shots out there of the new model doing its thing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, the reason why a handful of people put their pixel editing and imagination at work. Monholo Oumar is one of those people.
Describing himself as an automobile designer, Oumar worked on the team that brought the Initial D-inspired Toyota GT86 to life. He also happens to hold a bachelor’s degree in transportation design, which means that Oumar is a full-on car guy. One of his latest projects on Behance is this, a speculative take on the 2018 Renault Megane RS that looks extremely convincing.

The ice cube-like, Renaultsport-themed fog lights, for example, were pasted from the facelifted Clio RS. The bi-color alloy wheels, on the other hand, are borrowed from the Renault Kadjar, whereas the 4Control logo is from the Megane GT. The rear diffuser, including the Akrapovic exhaust tips, is a combination between the Clio RS and the third-gen Megane RS 275 Trophy.

Lastly, the seriously bolstered seats bearing the Recaro logo originate from the old Megane RS. The gear lever, meanwhile, is remarkably similar to that of the Megane GT. Minus the rear-end design, Oumar’s rendering is as close as we’ve ever been to how we imagine the all-new Megane RS would look like.

Back on planet Earth, with our feet firmly planted on the ground, Renaultsport is currently benchmarking the Megane RS against the almighty and all-paw-driven Volkswagen Golf R. So to speak, brace yourself for at least 300 PS.

There’s still a lot of hearsay going around according to which all-wheel-drive is in the offing, but chances are the rumor won’t be proven true by Renault for this generation of the Megane RS. If all goes according to plan, then Renault has a hugely capable contender for the Nurburgring FWD record.

Look forward for the all-new Megane RS to be launched in September 2017.
