Winter has arrived, and test engineers are already in Sweden and in other Nordic countries where they are working on the cars that will reach showrooms in late 2017 and 2018.
In the case of Porsche, a team of its engineers has been spotted while driving the 2018 Cayenne through the snow. This is not the first time when our spy photographers see and snap the next Cayenne, but it is the first of the 2016/2017 winter. Expect to see more of the Cayenne soon, as the engineering team will have to test more of it in the coming months.

Regardless of how many times will see the next-generation Cayenne through the lens of spy photographers, we already know many things about Porsche’s upcoming model.

First of all, it will get the MLB 2 platform, which is also named MLB Evo. You might have heard about it when it was introduced on the second-generation Audi Q7, and it also underpins the Bentley Bentayga.

The upcoming Volkswagen Touareg will employ the same platform, and the Lamborghini Urus will also get it. It is worth noting that its benefits include reducing the weight of the car by 150 to 200 kilograms (330 to 441 pounds), depending on version.

With this improvement, the Cayenne will be more agile, more fuel efficient, and faster. As you can observe, there are no downsides to utilizing this technical platform.

When the design is concerned, Porsche will follow the idea of evolution instead of a revolution, because there’s no point in changing a formula that already works. As you can see, the fenders of this model have been pumped up a bit, while the front and the rear are expected to get other changes that cannot be seen on these two cars.

Porsche is expected to launch the 2018 Cayenne in late 2017. The German brand will offer diesel, gasoline, and plug-in hybrid versions of the model. In less than a year, we anticipate seeing the production version officially revealed, complete with specifications and prices.
