While fortunately sticking to natural aspiration, the 991.2 incarnation of the Porsche 911 GT3 has brought an incredible amount of transformations to the Neunelfer. And it seems that Zuffenhausen is almost ready to reveal the final change brought by the 2018 GT3, namely the Touring Package.
You can regard this pack as a group of options that will enhance the GT3's daily driver aura - the Gen 2 model is more aggressive than the car it replaces, so, for those who want to put some serious mileage on their machines, these changes will be more than useful.
Last time we spied the X90-codenamed package, we talked about the rear seats of the prototype - the standard GT3, if we may call it so, traditionally skips the 2+2 layout of the Neunelfer.
And we can now bring you a fresh image of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package, with a prototype having recently been spied by an Instagram car spotter.
For the sake of comparison, the aficionado also shot a non-Touring GT3, so you can easily check out the visual difference between the posterior of the two.
Gone is the bold wing of the "normal" GT3, with this being replaced by an active element resembling the wing found on the Carrera/Carrera S models.
And the 911 R diffuser is present, as is the case with the non-Touring GT3s. While there's no official info on this, the package could be compatible with the 911 R-borrowed six-speed manual of the GT3 - stick shift models enter production in September.
Among others, the two elements we mentioned above mean that the 2018 GT3 helps Porsche fight the speculation bubble that has been built around the 911 R, whose prices were climbing towards the $1 million mark earlier this year.
We've been talking about the coziness package for the 991.2 GT3 for quite a few months now and it looks like the German automaker is ready to introduce the goodie.
As such, we should see the Touring Package making its debut next month, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
