If there's one non-technical word that can be used to describe the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, that has to be "teasing". Zuffenhausen has constantly played this game regarding King Kong and even now when the supercar has been released, the carmaker still hasn't mentioned the Nurburgring lap time of the rear-engined animal.
Interestingly, 991.2 GT2 RS factory cars keep blitzing the Green Hell, with the latest example of the sort having been caught on camera earlier this week.

As such, the piece of footage at the bottom of the page allows you to check out a pair of GT2 RS monsters blitzing the Ring. Our favorite bit has to be the Adenauer Forst moment at the 0:15 point of the clip, which shows just how determined the rear-wheel-drive special is when it comes to turning on a dime.

The rumors on the GT2 RS setting a new production car Nurburgring lap record intensify with each new spotting and we also have a few more or less official info that keeps the fire burning.

For one thing, Mark Webber has let it slip that the Neunelfer was able to hit no less than 208 mph (make that 335 km/h) on the infamous German circuit's main straight.

Interestingly, there's one part of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS that might not be the absolute best in the Neunelfer line-up. We're talking about the magnesium wheels included in the Weissach Package, which may be inferior to the carbon fiber rolling goodies of the 911 Turbo S Exclusive. The CF rims, which were introduced earlier today, are described as being 20 percent lighter and 20 percent stronger than forged alloy wheels, so we are, admittedly, talking about a vague comparo here.

Returning to how the 911 GT2 RS performs, here's the machine demonstrating it can make proper use of its 700 hp with the help of a savage take-off.
