About one month ago, a 2018 Mercedes-Benz Coupe tester allowed us to meet the front fascia of the upcoming two-door. However, the model we saw back then used the standard exterior, which brought the simple lines we met on the W213 E-Class sedan, but we're now here to show you the AMG exterior package.
The red E-Class Coupe prototype you can find in the video below sports the Affalterbach-flavored visual treatment, and you can easily notice that by zooming in on the front fascia, with its more aggressive styling and its added horizontal lines. Then there's the rear apron, which doesn't just look sharper, but also packs a diffuser-like central element.
Speaking of this test vehicle's posterior, we can now get a much better view of the boot lid and while the taillights have lost a bit more camo, they're still not naked.
However, you shouldn't let the black vinyl on the side of the car trick you into believing the 2018 E-Class Coupe will pack a rear greenhouse similar to that of the Audi A5. In fact, if the German designers follow the styling of the outgoing two-door E-Class, we'll get to a "third" side window once the wrap is removed - check out the 2014 E Coupe photo we added to the image gallery.
Before anybody jumps for joy expecting this to be the all-out E63 Coupe, we have to explain that the brakes aren't large enough for such a model. Then there's the styling, which, as the maniacal 2017 E63 Sedan has shown, will get even meaner for the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 bearer.
Speaking of which, we recently put together all the pieces of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Coupe puzzle we know so far in a dedicated story, which you can find here. And yes, the Drift Mode of the sedan's S version will allow the Coupe to deliver spectacular slip angles.
