2018 Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera Prototype Nurburgring Crash Rumored

One of the best parts about the fall 2016 Nurburgring season has to do with Lamborghini's Green Hell assault. Both the Aventador facelift and the Huracan Superleggera are flying on the Ring these days, as we showed you yesterday.

However, if we are to pay attention to the Nurburgring rumor mill, the V10 bull might've crashed yesterday evening. Here's a Facebook post, which comes from Nordschleife-addicted page BridgeToGantry (BTG), that tells us more about the possible event.

"I don't want to put 2+2 together to make 5, but the public session was delayed last night, that's normal for a lap record attempt. And then the Lamborghini came past around 1720, as if to start a flying lap. But he didn't come past again? And after a long delay a super-secret covered Bongard recovery truck drove off the track, and there was fresh, unrepaired, coned-off track damage at Bellof-S," the post, which was written four hours ago, states.

We'll mention the BTG page is run by Dale Lomas, who, among others, is a Ring Taxi driver and is working to test the official TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH) works GT86 Cup racecar these days.

As for the lap time of the Huracan Superleggera, the spiced-up incarantion of the V10 supercar is expected to deliver stunning performance. After all, the "standard" Huracan recently delivered a 7:28 in a Sport Auto test that saw the car being affected by ABS calibration issues linked to the optional Pirelli Trofeo R tires.

However, it's quite a long stretch to expect the Huracan Superleggera to set a lap record. That would mean beating the Aventador SV's sub-7 time and, more importantly, grabbing the record from the Porsche 918 Spyder, which is a 6:57 car.

The superlight badge should bring a power bump to around 650 horses, as well as a diet that will help the mid-engined machine lose up to 100 kg (220 lbs).

Rumored crash or not, we've added a piece of footage below that starts with the Huracan Superleggera prototype flying through the Adenauer Forst section yesterday.
