Jeep’s future Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is not a secret for some time now, but a few of its elements remain under wraps.
It is evident that this model will not be offered in a rear-wheel-drive version, and that an advanced and sturdy all-wheel-drive system will be the norm for the Trackhawk.

Some say that this model will feature torque vectoring, a technology that is present on its Italian “cousins” from the FCA Group, in the form of the Maserati Levante and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The massive torque that will come to the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk requires a different all-wheel-drive solution than the one used on the Grand Cherokee SRT, which is not so similar to what you can find in the top version of the Alfa Stelvio.

It is believed that Jeep used the 4WD system from a Ram model in the early prototypes, which would not be that unusual since the truck brand is also working on a Hellcat-powered product.

Jeep is expected to launch the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in July 2017, but do not prepare a tent to sit outside your local showroom, because release dates might be modified next year. We know that the Trackhawk will be a 2018 model year vehicle, so next summer should bring it to dealerships.

According to people accustomed with the subject, the 707 hp SUV will provide a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds, which is enough to make you feel as if you are in an extremely fast roller coaster. We must note that the time would make it faster than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the BMW X5M.

Regardless of its acceleration time and top speed, driving the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk should be an exciting experience no matter how you see it, because this level of power and torque is tremendous in any size of passenger car.
