2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Is the Version This Car's Looks Deserved

You could say the SVR is the version the F-Pace was created for in the first place, and very few could argue. It's true, somebody might stand up and say "actually, the 380 hp of the S version are more than enough," but we'll just cover his mutterings in the glorious sound of the supercharged V8 engine.
You don't get to say that too often when talking about European SUVs. V8, we mean. Apart from the posher stablemates of the F-Pace, the AMGs, the M versions of BMW's X5 and X6, and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo... OK, there are plenty of performance-oriented SUVs to choose from, but they are all at least 30 percent more expensive than the F-Pace on average, with the sole exception of the Mercedes-AMG GLC.

But what's the big deal with the V8 engines? If the engineers can muster similar amounts of power from a V6 unit, why bother with the larger, less economical engine? Well, to get an answer to this imaginary question we hope nobody asks, all one has to do is hit the 'play' button on that video below.

The only bad thing about this clip is that it only lasts for one minute and 23 seconds. Well, we could do without the camouflage as well, but no hard feelings, Jaguar, we totally get it. Even though we don't expect too much in the sense of aesthetic modifications - just the mandatory changes dictated by both airflow and bragging rights.

As appealing as the engine gurgles, sadly it is very likely it won't get the full 550 hp it spits out in other models such as the F-Type or, more relevant in this case, the Range Rover Sport SVR. However, expect its power output to be in the region of 500 hp, which should still be plenty for everyone.

The real promising aspect here is the way the car handles itself on the track, though, showing none of those nose-heavy tendencies you would expect from a car packing a five-liter monster engine under its hood. It's fast alright, and the best part is it maintains that speed through the bends as well.
