Hyundai’s next compact estate model will not be concealed for long, because we have the first set of spyshots of the new design. Just like any other wagon version of a hatchback or a sedan, the car shares the front end with the hatchback variant, and this goes for the doors as well.

From what we can discern from the prototype seen in the photo gallery, the rear of the i30 Wagon is not that different when compared to the regular i30. Just like its predecessors, the i30 will share its platform with Kia’s Cee’d, a car that is currently in the development stage and will get a production version next year.

The wagon version of the Hyundai i30 is also expected to be revealed next year, and there’s a change that the South Korean brand might show it at the Geneva Motor Show. While we are only four months away from that event and these are the first spyshots of the i30 Wagon, you cannot rule out this possibility.

After all, the i30 has taken its time for development, and the estate body style probably does not require that many changes before it gets the final approval for launch.

Apart from the hatchback and the wagon, Hyundai’s i30 range is expected to include another body style with this generation. The addition to the range will be a five-door liftback, which will be launched later on in the production cycle of the ongoing i30. From the beginning, that body style was announced as planned for launch after the wagon is ready, so Europeans might have to wait another year for it.

If the term lift back is something that is not familiar to you, think about a sedan with an opening rear hatch. That is the idea with this body style, which is something between the hatchback and the estate concerning practicality. With Peter Schreyer at the head of the design department, there’s a chance it will have a harmonious look.
