Ever since the second-generation Ford GT came out, many wondered if its half-a-million price tag, which places it in the same ballpark with the Lamborghini Aventador, is something the goes with the Blue Oval badge. Well, here we are, comparing the two, as the FGT and the Raging Bull were recently engaged in a drag race.
Fortunately, the sprinting fight took place at the drag strip, so the driver could keep things on the safe side. It's worth mentioning that the two velocity toys used a rolling start in their quest to see which mid-engined animal is quicker.

Now, you might wonder why the two didn't go for the good old standing start. After all, they had the Christmas Tree at their disposal, as well as the prepped surface, so the conditions for such a battle were ideal.

Well, the answer comes from the driver of the Ford GT, who explains that the aficionado behind the wheel of the Lamborghini didn't want to put too much stress on the single clutch of the tranny.

The Italian exotic and the American supercar duked it out on two separate occasions, as you'll be able to notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

Of course, given the all-paw hardware of the Aventador, a standing start would've seriously influenced the race. However, we'll certainly get to check out such a battle in the future and we'll bring you the brawl as soon as we get our hands on it.

And there's one aspect of the battle that deserves special attention. This involves the displacement of the two, since the Lambo packs twice the number of cylinders and almost twice the displacement. Speaking of which, numbers fans have no reason to fret, as the video includes all the necessary specs.
