We've recently brought you spyshots covering the full BMW mid-size family and the time has finally come to look into the 2018 M4 facelift crystal ball. And boy, oh boy do we have a piece of visual news for you!
The M4 LCI (Life Cycle Impulse - facelift in Bimmer talk) prototype has recently been spied wearing M4 GTS aero elements. As you can notice in the image gallery, the spotted test car comes with GTS wheels and a GTS rear apron. Heck, even the color seen here somehow reminds us of the Frozen Dark Grey Metallic finish of the track special. The hood and the rear wing come from the "normal" M4, though.

We've saved the front bumper for last, since the camouflage on the lower area (don't call this a splitter yet) indicates that the 2018 M4 could get a GTS-inspired chin job.

Switching to the cabin of the spied prototype, the camouflaged dashboard suggests we'll also get some changes in this area. If we are to zoom in on the changes brought by the already-revealed M3 LCI, these suggest a LED makeover for the climate control system, new graphics for the infotainment display, as well as update buttons, with an overall focus on improving perceived quality of the fit and finish.

The 2016 BMW M3 Sedan hasn't brought any updates in the powertrain area, though. And while the M4 GTS and its stunning 7:28 Nurburgring time make it difficult to look at the prototype we have here and expect the M4 to remain technically unchanged, this is the most likely conclusion at the moment.

And regardless of what number warriors tell you about the 7:52 Green Hell lap time of the current M4 (let the sub-8 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S comparos begin), this stunning performer that also makes for a brilliant daily driver, so there's absolutely no reason to fret.
