It's difficult not to get excited over the mid-size family reunion BMW is holding nowadays: after the facelifted (LCI in Bimmer talk) 3er showed up last year and the revamped 3 Series Grand Tourer was partially revealed online back in May, we spied the 4 Series Grand Coupe June and we're now back on the topic, as the 4 Series Coupe showed up in Munich.
After seeing its siblings, it's not difficult to use our imagination to peer through the otherwise restrained camouflage covering the spied pre-production two-door model.
The visual changes, as the rest of the updates, will obviously mirror the bits and pieces we've already met on the sedan. As far as the exterior is concerned, this involves all-LED lights, while the front and rear aprons get subtle tweaks - M Sport bumpers should remain unchanged, though.
As for the cabin, the trims and materials used will receive a quality bump. More importantly, as you can't see beneath the dashboard cover, the climate control system gets a LED makeover, while the infotainment screen comes with new graphics. Oh and let's not forget the updated buttons.
If you ask us, the rear seating should also be updated, with a more friendly backseat angle and perhaps a bit of extra padding being needed, but the move probably won't be on the menu.
Nevertheless, this is the kind of facelift that sees the BMW 428i becoming the 430i, with the new badge also bringing a small power premium. The model now delivers 248 hp or 252 PS. The same can be said for the 435i, with the revised 3.0liter twin-scroll turbo straight-six now delivering 320 hp or 326 PS.
When it comes to the financial side of the deal, we don't expect the mid-cycle touch to bring a pricing increase.
BMW should introduce the revamped 4 Series by next summer, as a 2018 model, but all we can think about is how the visual tweaks look on the refreshed M4.
