2018 Bentley Continental GT Base-Spec Doesn't Even Try, Still Looks Cool

Over the past few years, Bentley has expanded the Continental GT range, whether we're talking about new versions, limited editions or personalization options. And once the 2018 model that has just landed goes past its launch lineup era, we'll get to see the family being taken even further, from the introduction of a hybrid powertrain to fresh Mulliner goodies.

However, one Conti GT version we wouldn't hold our breath for is the base-spec model you can see here. Of course, this hasn't stopped the Internet from imagining a Crewe machine that packs steelies and non-color-coded aprons - pixel tip to digital artist X-Tomi for this image.

Even in this form, the British Grand Tourer still feels majestic in our book, such is the brilliance of the new model.

All this affordable Conti GT talk brings us to an interesting topic, one that has to do with the real world.

You see, once the new model hits the showrooms, the pricing for the old one should drop. But that... is not of such great importance, since those in the market for a cheap Continental GT can already enjoy such a delight.

We are kidding you now - hit the web and you might just find a few examples being offered for $40,000. And if you're willing to stay safe, paying $50,000 for one of these means you can enjoy brilliant cars.

Sure, we're talking about early models, but the truth is that the 2003 original never changed all that much until the introduction of the model we discussed above.

So you'll get most of an almost-new Continental GT's benefits at a ridiculous price. Frankly, if you do you homework and get the purchasing job right, the only thing you'll have to worry about are the obvious maintenance costs.

Then again, when you're enjoying life from inside such a W12 machine, with all the fine leather and the veneers surrounding you, it's okay to pay extra for the servicing.
