2017 Toyota Prius Spotted in Thailand, Features Heavy-Camouflaged Body

Some say it's the car that started the green craze in the automotive industry, but while we can't actually prove that, the Toyota Prius sure has its place in the history of the automobile. Just ask people of any age about it and they'll know one thing or two about the famous hybrid.

2017 Toyota Prius Spied
Toyota are bound to unleash the fourth-gen Prius on the market but until that happens, we get to see another heavy-camoed test mule wandering the streets, this time in the exotic location known as Thailand.

But we're not here to discuss holiday destinations, so let's cut down to the chase. The photo was taken by Watcharapong Ch and posted by Indian Autos Blog, and it should keep us on our toes until Toyota reveals the new Prius, somewhere towards the end of 2015.

Codenamed 690A, the 2017 Prius had everyone's attention, especially because it could boast 40 percent thermal efficiency, the highest ever for a production vehicle.

We also know Toyota has no other option rather than reinventing the Prius. Therefore, the hybrid will be underpinned by the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform and Toyota even allowed themselves the luxury of delaying the launch just to make sure the car's design and tech are up to date.

Moreover, there's the competition out there, which is way more powerful than it was when the first Prius came through the factory's gates and out in the world. I mean, clients have plenty of options if they want to buy a green car, and the choices are obvious here with Chevrolet, Nissan, Ford and especially Tesla leading the pack.

We expect the new Prius to land in 2016 as a 2017 model, but so far it looks like the new vehicle might be worth the wait. In any case, the production of the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid ends this month, which means clients should start making financial plans if they want to own the new Prius.
