Recently, Toyota models have been getting a lot of attention for their design, chief among them being the C-HR. However, there are some Japanse Domestic Market models that are sharper still, such as the Mark X.
This Avensis-sized sedan just went through a mid-life refresh, and it's looking like a Lexus. A bold grille, black badges, and meshes, plus some new colors make the X hit the spot. It's interesting to note that both the headlights and the taillights now have the exact same black tint.

After the refresh, five variants are available, namely the range-topping 350RDS, the 250RDS, the 250S and 250S Four, 250G/250G Four, and the 250G/250G Four with F Package.

The Mark X 350 models are powered by a 2GR-FSE 3.5-liter, naturally aspirated V6 generating 318 PS at 6,400 rpm and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque at 4,800 rpm. The less powerful ones come with the 4GR-FSE 2.5-liter, naturally aspirated V6 with 203 PS at 6,400 rpm and 243 Nm (179 lb-ft) of torque at 4,800 rpm, similar to what the old Lexus models had.

The one in the video is the 250G Four, so it's equipped with AWD and a 2.5-liter engine, which is always a popular combination in the Land of the Rising Sun. These 18-inch wheels are optional, but they accentuate the car nicely. A dual exhaust system is a standard as well, but the sound it makes is not the most thrilling in the world.

Perhaps more important than the design is the introduction of the Toyota Safety Sense P, which is able to avoid or alleviate forward collision once it a vehicle or pedestrian is detected, thanks to its forward-facing radar and camera.

The system also incorporates Automatic High Beam, Lane Departure Alert and Steering Assist function, as well as a Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. However, Blind Spot Monitoring is optional.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
