It's getting old, but this Japanese sports coupe reboot has been so successful that Toyota is showering it with attention. Two days ago, we showed you the TRD body kit for the 2017 version of the 86, which has a decent chance of coming to America. Today, we have something that doesn't.
It's another cosmetic package that will be available through the dealership network, but only in Japan. As the name on the box says, it's from Modellista, a company that has worked with Toyota for many years and also made a kit for the 86 before the facelift.

Through their parts catalog, you can choose to spend a few hundred bucks on mods or splurge out for the fool 297,000 yen deal.

The cool part is that all the body parts come already painted, so after buying them, the install can be performed quickly and seamlessly. At the front, we have a chin spoiler. It covers about half of the existing bumper and gives the 86 a bolder race car look.

Side skirts are also available, as is a chic piece of trim that goes across the both doors. The most interesting big has to be the Fender Illuminating Blade. It fits where the famous boxer engine logos used to be and makes some nifty blue light.

Speaking of which, Modellista will also updates the headlights, vanity mirror lights, number plate lights and even the ones in the trunk.

At the rear, the bumper insert works the same way as it does for the front, meaning that it bolts on top of the existing bumper. The factory diffuser and twin exhaust system configuration are kept. That's weird because TRD went above and beyond with a quad-pipe setup which we compared to Ferrari's.

Inside, we see a bunch of new trim pieces that make the 86 not necessarily better but certainly different. From the grab handles to the air vents, everything is painted red (we know it looks like orange in the photos) with a carbon fiber look. There's also a choice to go with silver if you are feeling classy.
