The Clio RS and Clio GT Line will complete the restyled range of the French automaker, which will be publicly unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show. All the improvements in the technology department will be carried over from the standard Clio facelift.

The facelift will not change the output for Clio’s 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which will continue to provide 200 HP for the “regular” RS and 220 HP for the enhanced Trophy version, while the six-speed EDC dual-clutch automat remains unchanged.

Renault prides itself on the fact that the Clio RS is available with three chassis options, a unique element in the segment.

We are writing about a Sport chassis, available with both 17 or 18-inch wheels, a strengthened Cup chassis, available with 18-inch wheels, and a Trophy chassis, also with 18-inch wheels.

The last of the pack is lowered by 20 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear to ensure a focus on driving fun, and only comes with the 220 HP engine.

The first chassis option, and the standard for the Clio RS, is focused on everyday use and versatility, while the second brings a blend suitable for both street and circuit use. At the same time, the Renault Clio RS Trophy is the only model in the segment which is available with an Akrapovic exhaust.

As Renault has already done with the 2017 Clio, the RS and GT Line versions of the four-door hatchback have received the brand’s new light signature. We are talking about what Renault calls “R.S. Vision,” which is a reinterpretation of the multi-faceted LED daytime running lights that were featured on the Clio RS 16, a concept car showcased this year.

The trick behind the new light signature shows a chequered flag out of light. Meanwhile, the front bumper of the Clio RS has been restyled, and the range of available rims has been increased. Customers will also get specific side-sills, a sporty spoiler, a twin exhaust tailpipe, and a functional rear diffuser integrated into the rear bumper. The rear lights also feature the automaker’s new light signature.

The GT Line version of the Clio remains a bridge between the regular versions of the French hatchback and the RS models. You can spot a Clio GT Line from a distance thanks to the “Dark Metal” air scoops in the front bumper, as well as a specially designed set of alloy rims.

The side sills mimic the units found on the Clio RS, while the exhaust has a chromed tip and is surrounded by a “Dark Metal” panel. Once inside, users will notice a blue design scheme, a leather steering wheel borrowed from the Clio RS, as well as a set of seats with distinctive upholstery. The driver will discern an aluminum pedal set, which is the last detail to underline the model’s sporty heritage.
