Now that Porsche has engineered the second generation of the Panamera, Zuffenhausen has left behind any shyness that may have been there during the original's reign, which means those looking for a four-door 911 will be happier than ever.
We've talked about the 2017 Panamera on tons of occasions, from the number-filled official release to the acceleration test showing the brutal nature of the Turbo, with the Zuffenhausen machine's Paris presence giving us yet another opportunity to focus on this practical Porscha.

So far, the German automaker's configurator include the Panamera 4S, the 4S Diesel (outside the US), the Turbo and, making its public debut at the French venue, the 4E-Hybrid. You know, the one that mixes a 4.6-second 0 to 62 mph time with an all-electric range of 30 miles (50 km).

Fortunately, we have plenty of other models to look forward to and we'll start with the Turbo S flavor of this Porsche. You see, while the Turbo may have set a Nurburgring record with its 7:38 lap, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio automatic's 7:32 lap blew that away.

Sure, Porsche protected itself against such intrusions by creating a special class for the Panamera Turbo record - while the Giulia is the fastest sedan, the Panamera is the fastest luxury sedan - but that's not how things work in real life.

Nevertheless, we're looking forward to the arrival of the Panamera Turbo S, so the score can be settled.

Then there's the Shooting Brake incarnation of the thing (here's a spy clip). With Porsche keeping us on our toes since 2012, when it introduced the Sport Turismo Concept, we can't wait for next year's Geneva Motor Show - the family man's Panamera is set to make its debut at the 2017 edition of the Swiss event and the good news is that it will also land in US showrooms, as a 2018 model.

So, whether you enjoy flying around the track in cars that seem like they shouldn't be there or simply want to take your dog along for the road trip, the Panamera will have you covered.

Update:Here are the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid live photos you've been waiting for.
