The Porsche 911 Turbo S has always taken great pleasure in challenging Italian exotics, but there's quite a distance between the quickest all-wheel-drive model in the Neunelfer line-up and a supercar like the Lamborghini Aventador.
However, with the 991 generation of the rear-engined coupe having received its mid-cycle revamp and the Aventador still waiting for its facelift, the performance gap between the two has decreased - for those of you who missed them, here are some spyshots of the revised Aventador.
The piece of footage at the bottom of the page showcases the now-smaller velocity difference between the 911 Turbo S and the "standard" Aventador (if we may call it so), allowing us to enjoy a drag race that involves the pair of supercars.
Their drivers decided to engage in a half-mile brawl, having gotten together at an event called Shift-S3ctor California Airstrip Attack. The two lined up for a standing start, with the Christmas Tree being replaced by a human.
Nevertheless, judging by the aural side of his battle, whose winner is more than obvious, the Sant'Agata Bolognese land-land missile uses a custom exhaust. And even as the V12 animal travels further and further down the runway, its scream is still strong enough to make us weak in the knees.
Oh well, at least the battle is well documented when it comes to the numbers, as we get to see the trap speed values at the end of the race.

None of these supercars had kept its factory stock aura
However, the speed comparison in this clip isn't entirely accurate, since both cars had been gifted with what can be described as light mods. As far as the tech side that's relevant here is concerned, we're not aware of the Raging Bull's gym visit results, but we can tell you the 911 had received an ECU remap.Nevertheless, judging by the aural side of his battle, whose winner is more than obvious, the Sant'Agata Bolognese land-land missile uses a custom exhaust.
